Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Amritsar has gone up to 44th position in the NIRF 2022 ranking. It has moved around ten steps higher from last year’s rank of 53. Rising to the 44th position has made GNDU stand among the top 50 universities in the country. The VC Prof Dr Jaspal Singh Sandhu credits this shift to the faculty, non-teaching employees, management, and associations of GNDU.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a central government-built structure that yearly evaluates national educational institutions on different parameters and ranks them. It assesses them on ”Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.
Passing through the five evaluating measures is challenging as well as inspirational. GNDU took it in the right spirit. Accelerating its efforts and focusing diligently on bringing more to teaching, learning and researching pursuits, the university has yielded growth in its rank.
GNDU is in new-age e-learning also along the on-campus and distance education. It offers various undergrad and postgrad degree courses online, all UGC accredited. BA in Punjabi and BCA are the two online undergraduate programs. MA in Punjabi, MCom, MCA, MBA (Gen), MBA in HR, MBA Marketing Management, and MBA Finance Management are the postgraduate programs offered online.
