University of Mysore NIRF ranking has surged to 19th under the “University Category” and 34th in the “Overall Category”. It is a commendable leap, the University has taken, in the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) ranking this year.

In 2020, Mysore University ranked 27th and 47th respectively in both the NIRF categories. While in 2019, both the rankings were 54th and 80th in each category. Constantly upgrading in the NIRF ranking acknowledges the University is – steady in its growth, performance, and aims of education.
Approved by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) and launched in 2015, NIRF provides a framework to rank institutions across the country. It grades institutions on the parameters of “Teaching, Learning, and Resources”, “Research and Professional practice”, “Graduation Outcomes”, “Outreach and Inclusivity”, and “Perception. Upgrading UOM NIRF ranking indicates its educational approach is progressing on all the NIRF variables.
UOM regards its NIRF upgrading as the result of its teaching-learning modules and processes adopted on research and publications. The current NIRF rankings are making the University optimistic to top this year’s NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) rating too.
Having sustained a constant growth in its NIRF ranking, the University sees eligibility for receiving an increase in grants from the government and the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
It would not be wrong to say that originality and efforts pave the way for the success that shall not be final. The University, committed itself to achieving excellence, is hoping to continue to rise in the rankings every year.
